The Tenant Advisory Panel consists of housing association tenants from around Wales who all have knowledge in the housing sector and are able to represent other tenants. They are working to develop networks; find more ways to engage with all tenants and to provide a voice for those who find it difficult to be heard. TAP members will then discuss all tenant views and consider the key issues before presenting them to the Regulatory Board Wales for assessment

Welsh Tenants Federation Conference

The TAP member attended the recent Welsh Tenants Federation - Destination Unknown Conference where they took part in several successful plenaries and workshops.

Visits

Tenant Advisory Panel members have been very busy in the last couple of months; they have been out and about visiting the communities and presenting TAP to tenants around Wales.  TAP has been well received locally and all members are eager to seek out the tenants in hard to reach places to provide a voice to the Regulator about how housing associations are managed. They want to share tenant experiences and provide mutual communication between tenant and landlord.

TAP members are looking for personal experiences from different tenants around Wales; they want to explore the systems that are currently working in the communities which have been developed by both tenants and landlords. If you would like more information about TAP then please fill the postcard and send it to: Hannah Smith (TAP Administrator), Welsh Tenants Federation, Milbourne Chambers, Glebeland St, Merthyr Tydfil, CF47 8AT, or alternatively email tapwales@welshtenantsfederation.org.uk

Changing Times

In May 2011 TAP members warmly welcomed the arrival of James Rides and Gareth Davies to the Panel.  They have shown great enthusiasm and commitment already and stated that they are looking forward to working with their follow TAP members.

We had to say a fond farewell to Barbara Lewis, Stella Wheeler and Maldwyn Little, three TAP members who have been with us from the start, due to ill-health and other commitments. The members were sad to see them go, but with them the very best for the future!
